Child and Elderly Support Initiative, started way back in 2014 by a group of selfless Ugandans of different professions, who aspire for a better life for a very Human being.
Its based in Busia - Uganda, at the Eastern border of Uganda and Kenya in East Africa.

Uganda is among the countries with an increasing number of street children despite the different forces to address it, its number 3 with high infections in Africa which calls for practical interventions.

We have been very much at the front in finding out the cause for the increasing number of street children and we have also produced documentaries about this.
We have supported them quit streets, rehabilitated them and supported them with vocational skills to help them live a transformed life, others have been supported to go back for formal education.

we have also supported school dropouts acquire skills in Carpentry, Metal welding and fabrication at our workshop in Busia along Tororo road.

We provide food to the needy especially the orphans and the elderly as well as giving them skills for self sustainability.

HIV/AIDS is still a big challenge and we carry out HIV campaigns to reduce on the rate of new infections and dependency caused by the death of parents, we aspire for a generation free from HIV.

We also conduct counselling sessions to families hit by the HIV epidermic, giving them hope for tomorrow and we also engage them in activities that generate income.

CHESI is driven by the desire to change and create an impact to the lives of people with different challenges, such as The Elderly, The Children, Persons with Disabilities, HIV Positive persons, Street Kids, Orphans and other vulnerable groups.

This has been done through different projects such as Cottage industry skills where we have supported the women and the elderly acquire skills in Candle making, Shoe polish, Tomato Ketchup, petroleum jelly, liquid soap among others.

Since 2014, over 50 youth have benefited from this program and more than 350 have been trained with entrepreneurship skills.

We also support a big number of students to pursue Education in different schools across the Country, We have also offered half university Bursaries.

We aspire for a bigger number of beneficiaries and we seek to have more partners to give us support to extend our services to a larger base of beneficiaries.
